Kullervo in Germany

Aulis Sallinen’s third opera Kullervo will receive a new production at Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken, under the direction of Inga Levant with Contantin Trinks conducting.
The title role of Kullervo will be performed by baritone Olafur Sigurdarson, and other protagonists include Oxana Arkaeva (Äiti), Patrick Simper/Jouni Kokora (Kalervo), Björn Arvidsson (Kimmo), Naira Glountchadze (Sister), Yanyu Guo (Young Woman), Rupprecht Braun (Hunter), Otto Daubner (Unto/2. Man), Maria Pawlus (Untos Wife), Markus Jaursch (Tiera), Vladimir Makarov (1. Man), Stefan Röttig (Blind Singer) and the choir of Saarländische Staatstheater
Following the opening night on March 4 2007 there will be 10 performances until May 20 2007.
