Jocelyn returns to her home town this Sunday - 17 May - with the Jocelyn Pook Ensemble to perform an evening of music spanning her whole career.

The line-up includes long time collaborator soprano Melanie Pappenheim, counter tenor Jonathan Peter Kenny, Carnatic vocalist Manickam Yogeswaren, Macedonian singer Tanja Tzarovska, violinist/singer Kelly McCusker, virtuoso clarinettist Susi Evans and avantgarde cellist/singer Laura Moody.

"One unique aspect of this music is the way in which the vocalists and the instrumentalists relate in what seems a multi-layered mélange."

All About Jazz about Untold Things

The programme for the performance will include rarely performed music from Portraits of Absentia, a suite of pieces based around Jocelyn’s answer phone messages collected over a month, Arsenal, a piece built around crowd chants recorded during an Arsenal football match, and London Bells, commissioned for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, in addition to some of Pook's better known works from films and CDs such as Eyes Wide Shut, Desh, Flood and Untold Things.
