News - O'Regan, Lang and Riley - Chamber Choir Ireland

Wednesday, June 1, 2016
Choral works by Philip Glass, Terry Riley, David Lang and Tarik O’Regan feature in two forthcoming concerts by Chamber Choir Ireland directed by Paul Hillier.

The concerts include the European premieres of Riley’s Madrigal and Lang’s where you go, a re-telling of a story from the Book of Ruth. Glass’s Three Songs for Chorus a cappella combine texts by Leonard Cohen, Raymond Levesque and Octavio Paz; meanwhile O’Regan’s Scattered Rhymes builds on fragments from a mass by Machaut to create a rhythmically driven setting of Petrarch’s obsessive and sensuous love poetry.

Minimal Roots…and a few green branches!
