John Harle has written the score to The Ship, a major new BBC fly-on-the-wall documentary. In the six part series, a team of volunteers retraces part of Captain Cook's dramatic voyage of discovery in the South Pacific Ocean, aboard an exact replica of his ship, The Endeavour. The series will be broadcast on consecutive Tuesday evenings on BBC2, starting 20 August. Harle's soundtrack will be released on CD by BBC Music on 18 August, featuring a diverse range of musical styles including world music, British trip-hop, modern jazz and classical music.
