Programme Note

The choral song “Julens Glæde - Himmelfalden” (Christmas´ Joy – from Heaven fallen), was composed for Christmas 1985, and later integrated in three Christmas pieces by me: “Landskab med hyrer” (Landscape with shepherds), “Lille Julekantate (Small Christmas Cantata) and “Pastorella” (all 2006) – pastoral music, based on the Christmas hymn, composed to a poem in Danish by the priest, poet, writer (and more) Johannes Møllehave, about God seeing the often overseen (the child in the cradle, the poor Joseph and May, the shepherds), that night in Bethlehem.
