G. Schirmer/AMP is extremely proud to have eight early works by John Adams as part of its catalog. Among these are the magnificent Harmonielehre and Harmonium, along with repertoire favorites including Shaker Loops and The Chairman Dances.

Among the performances of Harmonielehre next season are the Berliner Philharmoniker, conducted by the composer, in September, and the New York Philharmonic led by Alan Gilbert in March (New York) and April (London and Hamburg). In 2014 the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, conducted by Kent Nagano, created a multimedia installation of Harmonielehre with vivid digital projections on a giant spherical dome.

The 2015 Edinburgh Festival opened with The Harmonium Project, which transformed the outside of the Usher Hall into a canvas of moving images (seen by more than 20,0000 people) to accompany Harmonium performed by the Royal National Scottish Orchestra and the Festival Chorus.

Several of these now classic works have been featured in film and television with great effect, including 'Birdman,' 'I am Love,' and 'True Detective.'
