Programme Note
The title, "Masquerade", refers to the fact that there in all of the five movements are traces of former music - mainly by myself and mainly from the two former pieces I have already composed for Trio con Brio Copenhagen; but those traces, fragments are covered with new masks of new music.
The first movement is a kind of prelude - soft mirrors of Bach, Schumann and myself are quickly covered by fast music. The second movement is a barcarole with variations. The three last movements could be heard as a Waltz, a slow motion choral and finally - the last movement - a Rhumba.
The piece is dedicated to Trio con Brio Copenhagen.
